Inhibitory effects of crude ethanolic extracts and their active compounds on NO production. LPS-activated RAW264.7 cells were incubated with crude ethanolic extracts and their active compounds for 24 h. The supernatants were collected and measured the levels of NO were measured by NO assay. Shogaol, crude ethanolic extracts of C. longa and C. zedoaria, and all curcuminoids significantly reduced NO production compared to dexamethasone (positive control), while the crude extract of Z. officinale and gingerol had no effect.
